This November, Warren County screens Preventable—exploring the deadly connection between domestic violence, firearms, and lethality.

Preventable is a documentary produced by the Battered Women’s Justice Project (BWJP) with support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Through survivor testimony and expert insight, it examines how domestic violence and access to firearms intersect—and how lives are lost when warning signs go unaddressed. The film makes the case that these deaths are preventable when systems respond in time.

Join the Phoenix Project during Strangulation Awareness Month for a community screening and conversation about recognizing warning signs, understanding lethality, and strengthening responses to domestic violence.

Following the film, a moderated panel discussion will bring together local professionals to explore these issues from different perspectives and consider the role of community collaboration in supporting survivor safety.
